Our Mahua Oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Mahua tree (Madhuca longifolia), a native species traditionally harvested in the forests of India.

Important Note: Traditionally, the oil must undergo specific refinement processes to be considered safe for culinary use. Our oil is sold for external, industrial, or agricultural use unless specifically labeled otherwise. Please refer to the specific grade on your packaging before any internal application.

Mahua Oil is typically a rich, golden-amber color. It has a distinct, slightly earthy and characteristic scent due to its natural composition, which is normal for unrefined Mahua oil.

The oil is highly versatile! Its common uses include: natural soap making, lamp/candle oil, traditional body care formulations (as an emollient), and as a component in organic soil amendments.

It is primarily used as a beneficial soil conditioner. When used with its seed cake, the natural saponins present in the oil and cake are known to help flush out or deter certain soil-borne pests.

Mahua Oil is rich in emollients and is excellent for skin and hair health. However, as it may be unrefined, we recommend performing a patch test first and diluting it with a carrier oil before extensive use.

Yes, it is a prized ingredient in soap making as it contributes to a hard, long-lasting bar with great moisturizing properties due to its fatty acid profile.

Mahua Oil is predominantly composed of Oleic Acid and Stearic Acid, which account for its rich, emollient texture and solid properties at room temperature (depending on temperature).

Store the oil in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the lid tightly sealed to prevent oxidation and maintain its quality.

Yes. Due to its high content of saturated fatty acids (like Stearic Acid), Mahua Oil may solidify or become cloudy in cooler temperatures. This is a natural property and does not affect the oil's quality. Simply place the container in a warm water bath to liquefy it.
